Repair Technician

Job description SUMMARY•Repair Technician I The primary function of this position is to perform break fix/repair work on servers, tablets, handhelds, laptops, printers, POS devices and other "IT equipment". Additionally, part of this position is to perform triage, cleaning, testing/troubleshooting, and hardware repair of this same equipment. These duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Role and Responsibilities•

Primary Device Repair:

Identify failure, replace faulty part(s), retest, clean and systemically move to "usable inventory" bin.

Triage:

Determine if returned equipment is in working condition and/or identify issues to be fixed, documenting within Spencer's systems.

Equipment cleaning:

As gear comes back and/or is fixed it may need to be cleaned and/or have plastics replaced. Hardware testing, troubleshooting, and repair of the below equipment o Laptop and desktop computers o Point of sale computers o Mobile devices o Point of sale peripheral devices•receipt printers, barcode scanners, and cash drawers o Digital and VoIP phone receipt printers, barcode scanners, etc. Other duties as assigned Required Skills Must enjoy working with your hands Familiarity with repair is recommended Experience with hardware testing, troubleshooting, and repair of computer hardware is preferred Previous experience working with point of sale hardware preferred, but not required Previous experience working with routers and switches preferred, but not required Detail-oriented•all work performed must be logged and all time must be tracked Ability to understand and follow process documentation Ability to work in a team-based, fast-paced environment Ability to quickly adapt to changing business requirements Must have sense of urgency
