Job Description
Company Overview Hankscraft has been in business for over 75 years, creating dynamic displays and Point of Purchase (POP) products for the display industry. We design, manufacture, and take great pride in the quality of our products and the level of service we provide for our customers. Position Overview This hands-on role provides design and engineering support for new and existing display motors, electronic assemblies, and related products. You will guide products from initial concept through prototyping, manufacturing, and first production runs, coordinating closely with Sales, Production, and international teams. The ideal candidate can manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintain tight timelines, and provide regular status updates.
Key Responsibilities Product Development & Prototyping:
Assist with the development, testing, and fabrication of electronic samples and prototypes for POP displays and illuminated signs. Work with motor designs, LEDs, PCBs, LCD displays, microprocessors, analog/digital components, and small electric/DC motors.CAD & Technical Documentation:
Create detailed technical drawings, specifications, manufacturing fixtures, and tooling using 2D DraftSight and 3D SolidWorks. Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs).Product Enhancement & Support:
Redesign and optimize existing products to meet project-specific requirements, assist with project quoting/estimating, and provide technical support to the Sales group.Coordination & Communication:
Interface with project team members, suppliers, and customers throughout the product lifecycle, including coordinating specifications with our international team in China.Team Collaboration:
Participate in design meetings, brainstorming sessions, and project status reviews.Job Skills & Qualifications Required Technical Expertise:
Experience in electronic engineering with an electrical/mechanical assembly background; practical experience with LEDs, PCB layouts, IR technology, and LCD displays. Experience using 2D Draftsight and 3D Solidworks.Prototyping & Fabrication:
Ability to produce prototype PCBs using hand tools and manual component soldering.Software:
Proficiency in SolidWorks (or a similar solid-based CAD program) and working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office.Soft Skills:
Strong organizational skills, high attention to detail, and excellent oral and written communication skills.Preferred:
CNC router programming assistance. Python and C# programming experience. Familiarity with product demonstration and rendering tools such as Blender.Benefits:
