Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Firmware Tester to verify the functionality of user interfaces, machine controls, and equipment against engineering design specifications. This role is responsible for testing software, control boards, and machine systems to ensure products meet performance requirements, quality standards, and release criteria before production. Key Responsibilities Verify machine operation against engineering documentation, design specifications, and functional requirements. Perform simulation, scenario-based, and functional testing on control systems and production equipment. Test both control boards and complete machines to validate performance. Accurately document all testing activities, including procedures, methods, timing, results, and materials used. Identify, document, and track software or hardware issues within an issue tracking system. Monitor and report testing progress throughout the verification process. Maintain detailed records and reports of testing results. Conduct final validation testing prior to design freezes and product releases. Assist with maintaining and updating laboratory test equipment and machines. Collaborate with firmware developers, engineers, and software testers to communicate issues and verify corrective actions. QualificationsEducation & Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience with issue tracking software such as YouTrack, GitHub, or similar platforms is preferred. Required Skills Strong hands-on mechanical and technical aptitude. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to explain technical issues in a clear, non-technical manner. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Excellent organizational and time management abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to compile, organize, and present detailed testing data and findings to engineering teams. Experience working collaboratively within cross-functional project teams. Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to manage priorities and work with minimal supervision while meeting project objectives.
