Role Summary/Purpose Responsible for tearing down, cleaning, inspecting, and preparing older industrial gas compression and power generation engines for repair and overhaul. This hands-on role focuses on safely disassembling engines, evaluating component condition, and preparing parts for repair, replacement, or reassembly. Essential Responsibilities Disassemble large industrial engines and components using hand and power tools. Clean engine parts and components using appropriate shop equipment and procedures. Inspect components for wear, damage, corrosion, and other conditions requiring repair or replacement. Use service manuals, drawings, and work instructions to support teardown and inspection activities. Use calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring tools to evaluate component condition. Properly identify, organize, and stage parts throughout the teardown and overhaul process. Document inspection findings and communicate issues to supervisors and other technicians. Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, safe, organized work area. Follow all safety and quality procedures. Assist with continuous improvement of teardown, cleaning, and overhaul processes. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. 2+ years of mechanical, automotive, diesel, heavy equipment, or industrial repair experience preferred. Ability to meet physical demands of industrial engine assembly. Ability to lift a minimum weight of 40 lbs.
