This role will assist with drafting, data entry and design documentation tasks for fiber to the home and related fiber builds.
What You'll Do:
Draft fiber route designs, splice diagrams, and fiber count/architecture layouts independently for engineer review Prepare complete design packages, including bill of materials and design exhibits, for assigned projects Validate design data against field conditions, make-ready results, and GIS records, flagging discrepancies Lead routine quality checks on design documentation prior to release to engineering or construction Support fiber design revisions based on field-discovered conflicts or engineering feedback Coordinate with GIS and Field Data teams to ensure design records stay consistent with GIS and as-built data Train and provide guidance to Technician I staff on drafting and design data standards Due to the operational requirements, fluctuating workloads, and scaling demands, hours may fluctuate. You must be prepared to work in excess of 40 hours per week, including occasional evenings or weekends—to meet mission-critical contract milestones Other duties as assigned What We're Looking For 1-4 years in fiber/telecom design or related technical work Associate's degree or technical certification in drafting, telecom or GIS. Equivalent experience considered Solid understanding of fiber network design principles: route planning, splice architecture, and fiber counts Proficiency with fiber/OSP design platforms and supporting CAD/GIS tools Strong attention to detail for validating design data and identifying discrepancies Ability to manage multiple design assignments and meet project deadlinesBenefits Include:
