Job Summary:
Electrical Project Engineer Position:
Full Time or Part Time (while finishing school)
Assisting Project Management and Estimating Teams Position Summary:
JFK Electrical Contracting is looking for a Project Engineer that can assist both Project Management and Estimating Teams. Responsibilities under the guidance of a Project Manager may include, change order request preparation, submittal preparation, responding to RFI's, processing T & M Billing, establishing professional business relationships with clients and internal staff which may include visiting job sites, assist to implement and ensure safety standards are met, maintaining project documentation, any additional requests from the Project Manager. Responsibilities under the guidance of the Estimating Team may include assisting with all aspects of conceptual thru hard-bid and budget estimates. Obtaining quotes for lighting, fire alarm, low voltage systems, tele/data, instrumentation, and control is a plus. Ability to take an estimate from the beginning to a finished bid. Ability to determine labor units and make adjustment for level of difficulty. Ability to prepare custom spreadsheets in Excel. Provide input on construction issues.
The ideal candidate will have:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) Excellent communication skills both written and verbal General knowledge of electrical drawings and electrical codes Ability to read and interpret blue prints Knowledge of Blue Beam software a plus Ambition, ability and willingness to learn Ability to solve problems both independently as a team General knowledge of Electrical business practices Candidates must meet the following requirements:
