Job Description

Sr Electrical EngineerPosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of electrical systems for commercial, industrial, and institutional projects. The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for system design, engineering calculations, construction documentation, and coordination with multi-discipline teams to ensure projects meet performance, schedule, budget, and code requirements.

Key ResponsibilitiesLead the electrical design and engineering of power distribution, lighting, grounding, controls, and fire alarm systems for new construction and renovation projects.

Prepare detailed design documentation including drawings, specifications, load calculations, short circuit and coordination studies, and equipment schedules.

Develop and review technical deliverables to ensure compliance with electrical codes (NEC, IEC as applicable), industry standards, and client requirements.

Coordinate with architects, mechanical, structural, and civil engineers to integrate electrical systems into overall project designs.

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and designers, including review of work products and on-the-job training.

Perform design reviews, value engineering, and constructability reviews to optimize cost and performance.

Support procurement and construction phases by responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, overseeing testing and commissioning, and performing site visits as needed.

Ensure project schedules, budgets, and quality objectives are met; contribute to proposal development and project planning activities.

Maintain professional relationships with clients, vendors, and contractors and represent the firm during client meetings and site visits.

QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.8+ years of relevant electrical engineering design experience in building systems.

Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred; EIT required if not yet licensed.

Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and standard electrical design/calculation tools.

Strong knowledge of NEC, IEEE, NFPA, Title 24, and other applicable codes and standards.

Experience with power distribution, lighting, controls, emergency systems, and coordination with utility requirements.

Demonstrated ability to lead projects, mentor staff, and manage multiple deadlines.

Strong written, verbal, and client communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in industrial/manufacturing, cold storage, automotive, aerospace, medical, or education facilities.

Knowledge of low-voltage systems, fire alarm systems, and communication systems.

Experience with construction administration and field coordination.

Project management or team leadership experience in a multidisciplinary A/E environment.
