We are looking for someone with strong hands-on experience in motion control, stepper motor systems, firmware configuration, machine wiring, sensors, and connected machine interfaces. This role is ideal for an engineer who has worked with custom machinery, CNC equipment, robotics, or advanced 3D printer-style control systems. Responsibilities Develop and configure electrical control systems for RapidTag machines Work with BigTreeTech Octopus / Octopus Pro control boards Configure and tune TMC5160 stepper drivers Develop and modify Klipper firmware configurations Set up and troubleshoot sensorless homing Support multi-axis motion control systems Integrate sensors, switches, motors, drivers, and communication devices Assist with WiFi communications and connected sensor systems Help develop or support smartphone-based HMI / machine control interfaces Troubleshoot electrical issues during machine assembly, testing, and commissioning Work closely with mechanical and production teams to improve machine reliability Document wiring, configurations, settings, and troubleshooting procedures Requirements The ideal candidate should have experience with some or all of the following: BigTreeTech Octopus / Octopus Pro control boards TMC5160 stepper drivers Klipper firmware development and configuration Sensorless homing and motion control Multi-axis motion systems WiFi communications and connected sensors Smartphone-based HMI and machine control interfaces Custom machinery, CNC, robotics, or advanced 3D printer systems Electrical troubleshooting and machine commissioning Reading and creating wiring diagrams Low-voltage control systems, sensors, relays, motors, and drivers Hands-on testing, debugging, and problem solving Preferred Experience Experience building or modifying advanced 3D printers, CNC machines, robotics, or automated machinery Experience with stepper motor tuning and motion calibration Familiarity with machine safety, electrical panels, and industrial wiring practices Ability to work directly on machines in a production environment Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently What We Are Looking For We need someone who is not only an engineer, but also hands-on. The right person should be comfortable diagnosing problems on real machines, testing solutions, improving motion systems, and helping bring new machine designs from concept to production. This position requires someone who can think through electrical and control problems, work with mechanical components, and help create reliable machine systems that can be used by customers in real production environments.
