Acerca del puesto Job Summary The Sr. Mechanical Engineer is responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems and components. This role applies engineering knowledge to support the planning, testing, and implementation of mechanical and electromechanical systems. This job profile is intended for experienced professionals who apply practical knowledge of a job area and work independently with general supervision. Pasadena, Texas Position Summary The individual with this position will have to split their time in-between the pasadena engineering team objectives, field service, field service reports and shop engineering support at 1910 jasmine drive. This engineering position will entail a dual role with hands-on-responsibilities along with other engineering tasks. It is expected that the individual will need training as part of on-boarding process and Sulzer will accommodate. Job Requirements - Preferred 0 - 4 years' experience in the following field of electrical engineering. Electric motor, generators repairs and design. Transformer repair and design Switch gear design and diagnostics Power Semiconductors Proficient in basic power theory, Knowhow in the following topics Operations of induction motors Operations of synchronous motors Transformer principle Operation of semiconductors. Winding Insulation Tests Role The electrical engineer will be responsible to perform on-site field service preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on electromechanical equipment. They will also be responsible to provide the reports for the job performed to the customer in a timely manner. Prioritize internal safety initiatives as assigned. Assist with shop projects which are electromechanical in nature. This role will require the individual to be hands-on and involved in the day-to day operations. Based on proficiency, certain aspects of project management may also be assigned. Mandatory Attributes The individual must be self-motivated and must be prepared for on-the-job training. The individual must take responsibility of their assigned task and finish it in a timely manner. During on-the-job training the individual is expected to train in inter-disciplinary tasks.
