Onsite Wednesday & Thursday Job Summary We are seeking a Electrical Engineer I with strong electrical engineering, design, and project coordination experience to support substation engineering projects in the Rural San Joaquin Region . Substation experience is strongly preferred; however, candidates with strong transferable electrical design experience may also be considered. Responsibilities Develop preliminary scope of work for engineering projects. Conduct and document pre-engineering field/job walk meetings . Work with Construction, Maintenance, Operations, Field Engineering, Testing, IT/Telecom, and other stakeholders. Prepare engineering specifications, meeting minutes, drawings, and design documentation. Develop and update AutoCAD electrical drawings . Provide technical engineering and design support to project teams. Coordinate engineering contractors, schedules, deliverables, and project costs. Review contractor proposals, purchase orders, change orders, and service requests. Provide technical support to field personnel and project stakeholders. Support operational, reliability, emergent, and compliance-related engineering activities. Provide technical guidance and mentoring to engineers. Support a strong safety-conscious work environment. Travel to substations for field job walks, typically 1-2 times per month , with frequency dependent on project needs. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or another relevant technical/engineering discipline. 2+ years of applicable engineering experience . Strong electrical design experience. AutoCAD experience . Knowledge of electrical engineering and power systems. Experience with electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, schematics, conduit, grounding, or related design work. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong organization and technical documentation skills. Ability to coordinate with engineering, construction, operations, maintenance, contractors, and field teams. Willingness to travel to project sites/substations as needed. Preferred Qualifications 5+ years of engineering experience . Substation engineering/design experience. Experience with 4kV-500kV power utility substations. Project management or project coordination experience. Power engineering experience. Conduit and grounding design experience. Experience with Bluebeam, Design Manager, Ariba, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 3D design/modeling experience is a plus but not required . California PE license is preferred but not required . Experience with electrical design, conduit design, grounding design, one-line diagrams, schematic diagrams, and power engineering concepts is highly relevant. Location Requirements Candidates should be local to the Rural San Joaquin Region . Out-of-state candidates should not be submitted unless relocation is completed or will align with onboarding requirements. Candidates must be able to work onsite Wednesday and Thursday . Ideal Candidate:
Experienced Electrical Engineer with strong electrical design and AutoCAD skills, project coordination experience, and preferably substation/utility experience. Candidates with transferable industrial electrical design experience may also be considered.
