General Purpose:
Contributes to the cost effectiveness of plant operations through the planning, design, and management of capital projects to include the initiation and design of equipment, processes and building modifications; the resolution of equipment related process difficulties.
Essential Functions:
Responsibilities that are requirements in order to perform the job: Manage capital investment budget and projects Identify opportunities to improve plant and process efficiencies including facilities and grounds Responsible for the justification and management of capital projects Coordinate the technical and practical aspects of engineering projects Assures implementation of engineering controls to meet federal, state and local environmental, health and safety regulations Maintain and improve plant safety through investigation, recommendation and selection of processing equipment Implement process equipment modifications and building improvements Control and document periodic facility process regulatory inspections Provide training and safety related materials and equipment to the skilled trades
Supportive Functions:
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of supportive functions based on business needs: Other assignments as delegate or assigned by management Some travel required both domestically (occasionally) and internationally (rarely)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation: Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to effectively interact with contractors and vendors in a friendly, positive manner Must be organized, detail oriented and willing to take initiative General knowledge of machine tools, such as engine lathes, milling machines, band saws, MIG/TIG/Stick welding, plasma/acetylene torch cutting, electrical meters and all skilled trades hand tools
Education/Experience Guidelines:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar Engineering degree required Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Business Administration preferred Minimum 5 years related experience in engineering management in a manufacturing environment Familiarity with AutoCad, Rockwell RSLogix Automation software, Rockwell PanelBuilder software, and SAP maintenance software preferred Working knowledge of the following; 1) Federal, state and local safety regulations for machine design and guarding; 2) NFPA and NEC regulations for process equipment and facility electrical power distribution and controls; 3) NFPA 25 fire protection systems design/maintenance regulations; 4)
NFPA 654
industrial ventilation and combustible dust regulations; 5) NFPA 68 industrial ventilation explosion venting regulations; 6) EPA regulations for refrigeration equipment; 7) EPA regulations for air and waterborne contaminate emissions E-verify employer. Background check and drug screen before hire.
