At Coburn Technologies, we develop state-of-the-art industrial machinery supporting the ophthalmic industry. We're looking for an experienced, hands-on Electrical Engineer to join our engineering team and help design the next generation of lens manufacturing technology. What You'll Do As an Electrical Engineer, you'll play a key role in developing new products from concept through production. You'll work alongside talented engineers and cross-functional teams to design, test, troubleshoot, and implement sophisticated electrical and motion-control systems.

Your responsibilities will include:

Lead electrical and controls architecture for new products, from circuit-level design through system integration and wiring. Design and integrate stepper- and servo-based motion control systems, including motors, encoders, controllers, motor drives, power supplies, and cabling. Develop and work with software using C, C++, Python, MATLAB, and PLC logic. Troubleshoot complex systems using oscilloscopes, DMMs, function generators, LabVIEW/data acquisition systems, and other diagnostic tools. Identify root causes and develop effective, lasting technical solutions. Develop test equipment, procedures, requirements, and processes for production and quality control. Support product verification, validation, safety, and compliance requirements. Develop and document assembly and testing procedures. Work with outside testing laboratories to obtain and maintain product certifications. Train and support assembly personnel. Collaborate with Supply Chain, Operations, Customer Support, Sales, and Field Service. Provide technical support for customer-related issues. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and help drive projects to completion on schedule. What We're Looking For - Electrical Engineer We're looking for someone who is both technically strong and comfortable getting hands-on. You bring:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and 6-8 years of directly relevant experience. Additional experience may substitute for education. Master's degree in Electrical Engineering is strongly preferred. Experience designing and implementing stepper and servo motion-control systems. Strong understanding of electrical schematics, circuit design, simulation, controls, software integration, and production standards. Experience with C, C++, Python, MATLAB, and/or PLC programming. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, planning, and organizational skills. A creative, persistent approach to solving technical problems. Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills. An entrepreneurial, ownership-oriented mindset and the ability to take projects from concept to completion. The ability and willingness to work hands-on in both office and manufacturing environments. Some flexibility is available, and occasional evening, weekend, or overnight travel may be required based on project and customer needs. The Work Environment This role combines office and manufacturing environments. Employees may work around manufacturing equipment where appropriate personal protective equipment is required. The position may occasionally require lifting up to 30 pounds, standing, walking, reaching, and other hands-on activities.
