Location:
Gainesville, GA Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role will involve the design and development of electrical control systems, an essential part of ensuring that our equipment meets high safety and performance standards. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to create electrical schematics, control panel layouts, and detailed documentation, ensuring all designs adhere to industry standards and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop new electrical schematics and control panel layouts in collaboration with mechanical engineers and project managers. Ensure designs comply with UL/CSA or CE standards based on customer specifications. Conduct design calculations and create bill of materials (BOM). Revise existing schematics in response to customer needs, hardware updates, or design enhancements. Maintain thorough and organized documentation for all electrical designs and BOMs. Work alongside Controls Engineers on projects requiring PLC programming. Gain a comprehensive understanding of machine applications in various processing environments. Standardize component usage across product lines to optimize efficiency. Participate in machine testing, including applying power and conducting operational demonstrations. Assist in drafting technical procedures and user guides. Support panel manufacturing and ensure adherence to wiring guidelines. Conduct quality checks and analysis to maintain high standards.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. 1-3 years of experience in designing electrical control systems, preferably within the food industry.
UL508A MTR
Certification (or commitment to achieve this in 6 months) Proficiency in using SolidWorks Electrical Pro or similar design software. Familiarity with Rockwell Automation and Allen Bradley products. Experience with variable frequency drives, including Allen Bradley 525. Strong knowledge of industrial cable types and their ratings. Understanding of IP Codes for dust and water ingress (IP67-IP69K). Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
