FHP Manufacturing is a leader in the production of geothermal and water source heat pumps, providing some of the most efficient heating and cooling comfort solutions in the industry.
Job DescriptionElectronic Controls Development & Electrical Engineer of HVAC water source systems,including Design & Testing of Electrical Boxes, Layout, Harnesses, Specifications andOptimizations of System and Components.
Design electrical box/control systems for Water Source Heat Pumps based on customer and product requirementsSelect and specify electrical components such as blowers, motors, relays, contractors in compliance with current or future regulations according to product needsDesign cable harness and routingsCreate and update wiring diagrams according to top customer requirements and electrical optionsPrepare and perform system testing of products based on their controls requirementsPerform engineering modifications & update drawings & processes for electrical components and controlsCalculate and prepare technical data for the productSupport unit rating, qualification, and reliability testingJoin and contribute product FMEA as a team memberWrite test and development reportsProactively identify and address product design issues that adversely affect production or product operationAdhere to Safety & Security ProtocolsProactively identify and address product design issues that adversely affect product operationQualificationsBachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Systems EngineeringAdditional InformationElectrical, Controls, Software experience2+ years of Electronics and System Performance experience preferred2+ years of Electrical/ Electronic Circuit & System Analysis experience preferredAbility to work with multiple teams & disciplinesStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to communicate engineering requirements.
Take Ownership and Follow Task to Completion (Quality, Time, Cost)Ability to provide support and assistance, co-workers as appropriateUnderstanding and knowledge of NEC, UL and any other applicable electrical and safety codesUnderstanding and knowledge of HVAC concepts and systems, elector-mechanical and direct digital controlExcellent oral and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal skillsQuality awareness and knowledge of quality tools (8D, problem solving, failure rate prognosis, etc.)Proficient in Microsoft Office toolsFMEA (Failure Mode & Effects Analysis)Data Analysis (Excel, Power BI, programming languages, etc.
Ownership to resolve technical problems or prompt response to address issues and escalate as neededBe a team player within cross function teams, understand multi-discipline needs (engineering, marketing, assembly, logistics, purchasing, etc.
