Senior Electrical Engineer

About Us:

NHWL Engineering is a consulting engineering firm located in Tallahassee, FL. Our team of mechanical, civil, structural, instrumentation, and electrical engineers provide detailed design for industrial projects. We produce the construction documentation for contractors to build new facilities and additions to existing facilities.

Position Description:

The position will be a combination of project management, electrical engineering, and design. You will be asked to work with a project team to coordinate the electrical designs with other engineering disciplines as well as client requirements, and you will be asked to direct the work of junior engineers and designers concerning document production. The position will require interface with vendor personnel, the client's personnel, and with contractors. You will also be asked to provide electrical power system models (utilizing EasyPower Software). Part of the job includes directing the staff to develop instrument loop diagrams, motor schematics, plan drawings, lists/schedules, and other documentation for a variety of projects utilizing CAD Software.

Responsibilities:

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution 10+ years of experience as an electrical engineer Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with willingness to obtain licensure in additional states as project load requires Hands-on knowledge and design proficiency in electrical standards, codes, and vendor equipment options Strong written and oral communication skills Experience coordinating work within an internal team of electrical engineers and designers, as well as cross-disciplinary coordination Working knowledge of NFPA and NEC Standards Experience in power system design (preferably EasyPower)

Technical:

• Knowledge of low and medium voltage power distribution and motor controls
• P&ID development in conjunction with process engineers/equipment vendors
• Knowledge of field instrumentation for industrial processes
• Working knowledge of

DCS, PLC

systems, and control system networks

• Proficiency in industrial design for grounding, lighting, and cable tray layouts
• Proficiency in Electrical & Instrumentation industrial construction methods
