Senior Electrical Controls Design Engineer Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Controls Engineer to join our team. As an Electrical Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for the ground-up design of Electrical and Controls packages used on commercial dehumidification (desiccant) equipment.Responsibilities:
1. Accurately design our electrical schematics for our custom dehumidifiers a. Ladder Logic designs in CAD b. PLC designs in Carel Software c. Must understandNEC & UL
requirements and apply them correctly to electrical designs. d. Must be proficient in AutoCAD. Solidworks electrical experience would be beneficial. 2. Must be able to not only design electrical systems but select components to operate within that system. Motors, Circuit breakers, contactors, relays, VFD's, controllers, etc. All components in the system must be selected by team members and presented in Excel to the Purchasing Dept for procurement. 3. Lead R&D and NPD projects. We are constantly innovating, testing, and changing designs. 4. Write procedures and production standards. 5. Capture continuous improvement needs and create action plans. 6. PLC programming is a must. Our products are becoming more and more reliant on PLC based controls. This includes programming Carel (primary plc offering) & Automation Direct PLC products (DirectLOGIC Software). Fluency in other systems like Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Automation Direct PLC products are also desired. a. Minimum 3 years' experience designing PLC programs. 7. Assist field service & customers with technical questions & engineering support. 8. Be able to travel to customer's site if needed. 9. Leadership/Management Skills a. Ability to lead/manage an electrical/controls engineering team. b. Looking for strong leadership & social skills. c. Ability to take full ownership of projects assigned to them.Requirements:
- BS Engineering Degree from accredited college or university
- Minimum 5-years of experience in an electrical engineering role
- Advanced level expertise in electrical drawing creation
- Working knowledge of HVAC or refrigeration systems
- Good technical writing skills
- Self-motivated, engaged, team-oriented, and strategic thinker with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
- A passion for doing quality work. High attention to detail
- The ability to think critically, innovate, and solve challenging technical problems.
- Capacity to handle pressure.
- Strong work ethic, and the ability to handle peak work times.

Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of leadership/management experience
- 5+ years of experience designing in the HVAC or Refrigeration industry
- 5+ years of experience using AutoCAD
- 5+ years of PLC design experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint
- LEAN, 6S and solid problem-solving experience
