The Senior CCA (Circuit Card Assemblies) Design Engineer will be responsible for designing, integrating, and troubleshooting complex high-speed CCAs for stand alone and embedded applications. Must have proven ability that extends from concept to design, simulation, layout guidance, bring-up, validation, and production release, supported by extensive hands-on laboratory and system-level troubleshooting skills. Analog and digital circuit design including schematic capture and PCB layout guidance Responsible for architecting, designing, developing, modifying, debugging, functional verification and integrating electronic equipment, electronic parts, components, or integrated circuitry for complex, high performance hardware systems Designing with complex electronic devices and electronic interfaces/protocols: PCIe Gen3/Gen4/Gen5, USB3.2/USB4/Thunderbolt, 1Gb/10Gb Ethernet, DisplayPort/HDMI/DVI, low voltage DC-DC buck/boost regulation, USBC power delivery, microcontrollers, JTAG/I2C/SPI/UARTs Responsible for determining design approaches/parameters, managing design schedule and technical risk Responsible for analyzing electrical requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints Responsible for selecting components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability requirements Support internal manufacturing and tech support teams with technical expertise to analyze and improve product manufacturability, reliability, safety, and customer usability Create product documentation for manufacturing support (test plans, assembly instructions, etc.) Support internal tech support team with field issue re-creation, issue analysis and resolution Support internal manufacturing and tech support teams with technical expertise to analyze and improve product manufacturability, reliability, safety, and customer usability Must be able to work across internal departments to identify and manage project inter- dependencies and critical path activities to minimize development schedule risk Qualifications:
Required:
10+ years of experience in CCA (Circuit Card Assemblies) design and a BSEE required. Expertise in CCA design processes including requirements and block diagram generation, long lead and EOL component analysis, schematic generation, PCB layout guidance, PCB design simulation, design debug, functional verification and system integration Expertise with high-speed interfaces: PCIe Gen3/Gen4/Gen5, USB3.2/USB4/Thunderbolt, 1Gb/10Gb Ethernet, DisplayPort/HDMI/DVI Expertise with serial protocols: JTAG/I2C/SPI/UARTs Tool Expertise:
Cadence Allegro, OrCAD Capture, HyperLynx SI & DC Drop, and LTspice Expertise in PCB design signal integrity and DC drop analysis with Hyperlynx Expertise in PCB stack-up design for high-speed multi-layer impedance controlled digital circuitry designs Expertise in high-speed PCB design practices including layout design impacts to signal integrity and voltage drop requirements Expertise in low-power DC-DC regulation, conversion design including regulator margin simulation/analysis and power sequencing Expertise in hardware bring-up, failure analysis and root-cause isolation Understanding of mixed hardware-FPGA integration workflows Experience with electronic thermal control design practices Expertise in operating electronics laboratory equipment: oscilloscopes, digital multi-meters, network/protocol analyzers, spectrum analyzers Must be able to multi-task in a small company environment Preferred:
