Davenport, Iowa Position Purpose:
The Electrical and Software Engineer or Technician is responsible for the design, programming, and support of electrical and automation systems for Twin State Environmental' s Raptor Tank Cleaning Systems. This role supports both in-shop builds, on site installations, and field troubleshooting - ensuring systems operate safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following tasks: Develop and maintain control systems for Raptor equipment Program and troubleshoot motion controllers (Kollmorgen
PDMM / PCMM
) Work within Kollmorgen Automation Suite (KAS IDE) Configure and support servo drives (AKD Gen 1 & Gen 2) and servo motors Support VFD setup and troubleshooting (Schneider ATV340 using SoMove) Develop and maintain HMI interfaces using Phoenix Visu+ Work with Phoenix Contact Axioline I/O systems Troubleshoot electrical, controls, and communication issues (Ethernet, RS-485) Configure and support remote access systems (mGuard, VPN) Assist with equipment startup, commissioning, and field service support Collaborate with mechanical, operations, and service teams Maintain documentation and support continuous system improvements Some onsite overnight travel may be required
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field preferred 2+ years of experience in industrial automation or controls preferred Experience with PLCs, motion control systems, or industrial equipment Ability to read and clearly describe electrical drawings Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams Familiarity with industrial communication protocols and networking SQL Server knowledge is a plus, but not required Strong written and verbal communication abilities
Physical Requirements:
Able to pass physical, drug test, and background check with driving record Ability to work in industrial environments (shop and field settings) Ability to lift, climb, and work around equipment as needed
