Not available What You'll Do- Assist with engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight of electrical systems in buildings
- Assist with design portions of projects related to discipline systems according to code and IMEG standards
- Support project work within the project's monetary budget while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations
- Assist with researching resources for commercially available equipment
- Assist with good client relations, project design notebook, and documentation for permanent record files
- Assist with coordinating design and schedule with other disciplines such as architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical and equipment suppliers
- Assist with documenting design decisions, meetings, and instructions from client promptly while monitoring project design progress
- Assist with review of all project documents for accuracy and completeness prior to requesting a final check
- Assist with preparation and issuance of addendum information
- Conduct periodic job site observations and all other services as required by the contract services agreement What You'll Bring Required Education
- Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent required Required Skills/Abilities
- Strong interest in design consulting
- Previous exposure to CAD and/or Building Information Model software
- Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups Preferred
- Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred About the Team
- Work is heavily higher-education focused, with recurring mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, technology, and energy-modeling scope on classrooms, science buildings, student housing, and health-science projects. That pattern suggests a strong full-service MEP team with especially solid experience in lab, campus, and complex student-facility coordination.
- A notable additional signal is the health-sciences and research tilt, including geothermal/all-electric and lab-intensive work at Des Moines University and Drake University.
