Woodman Controls Company is seeking a skilled and experienced Engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in HVAC controls, systems integration, and control system design who are ready to take ownership of complex projects and contribute to the growth of our team.
What You'll Do:
Lead the design of complete building automation systems, including detailed control drawings, wiring diagrams, equipment schedules, and sequences of operation. Create and deliver complete software packages, including graphics and validated databases, ready for field implementation. Provide technical leadership during submittal, installation, and commissioning phases. Conduct field verification for retrofit and complex systems, collecting detailed documentation and resolving on-site design questions. Work directly with Project Managers, field technicians, and third-party vendors to ensure seamless system integration and execution. Maintain and manage deviation logs, software watch lists, and documentation updates to ensure accuracy and traceability. Support and troubleshoot third-party system integrations and legacy system upgrades. Mentor less-experienced engineers and provide technical guidance across project teams.
What We're Looking For:
Proficiency with building automation platforms (Tridium Niagara preferred). In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, mechanical integration, and control strategies. Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and engineering documentation. Working experience with CAD or Visio for control system documentation. Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across disciplines. High level of initiative, accountability, and attention to detail. What You'll Need to
Succeed:
Associate or bachelor's degree in engineering, HVAC technology, or related technical field (required). Minimum of 3-7 years of hands-on experience in building automation and control systems design and programming. Strong project management and documentation skills. Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally to job sites. Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background checks.
