Job Summary The Controls Engineer is responsible for analyzing manufacturing plant processes and designing control system improvements to enhance operational efficiency, safety, and reliability. This role involves hands-on troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical, and control systems, planning and executing preventative maintenance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement sustainable solutions. The Controls Engineer ensures all systems comply with quality, safety, and regulatory standards while supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the plant. Key Responsibilities Analyze plant processes and control systems to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities. Design and implement control system enhancements to optimize production performance and safety. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, electrical, and process-related issues. Provide 1st, 2nd, and 3rd level technical support for control and electrical systems. Plan, schedule, and execute preventative and predictive maintenance activities. Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, and safety teams to detect issues and implement corrective actions. Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical drawings. Ensure compliance with company quality standards, safety regulations, and industry best practices. Document troubleshooting activities, system changes, and maintenance procedures. Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to process optimization projects. Required Technical Skills (Must Have) Experience providing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd level technical support . Strong AC/DC troubleshooting skills. Controls electrician expertise with hands-on industrial experience. Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting capabilities. In-depth knowledge of electrical systems including: AC/DC power systems Transformers and generators Motor controls Circuit breakers and protection devices Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints . Proven experience troubleshooting and repairing complex electrical issues in industrial machinery . Solid mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.Preferred / Nice
-to-Have Skills Experience with Allen-Bradley (A‑B) PLC programming . Advanced Controls Engineering experience, including system design and optimization. Exposure to automation systems, HMIs, SCADA, or advanced industrial control platforms. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience). 3+ years of experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or plant environment preferred. Work Environment Manufacturing / industrial plant setting. Requires hands-on work with electrical and mechanical systems. May involve on-call support, shift work, or emergency troubleshooting as required. NIT01Job Type:
