Job Summary:
Electrical Engineers will be expected to participate in project design from proposal to sealing Issued for Construction drawings. Projects will include a wide variety of machinery, systems, and structures for a range of industrial processes. These industries include food processing, wood products, mining and more. This position also requires business development efforts, project management, and leadership skills. Our engineers are expected to have a thorough understanding of electrical engineering principles, practices, and tools. They will work closely with other engineering disciplines to accommodate all project needs. This position reports to the Engineering Department Manager.
Responsibilities:
Project Support:
Independently perform routine technical work in accordance with prescribed techniques and procedures. Information and data management related to projects and project management. Ensure project team members create deliverables that meet or exceed the customer's expectations and standards.
Collaboration:
Work independently but be quick to ask questions and draw upon the best internal, customer, and industry resources to meet customer requirements accurately and efficiently. Build and maintain healthy, long term, professional relationships with coworkers, customers, suppliers, and industry partners. Collaborate on project designs, drawings and visual aids using standard computations and analysis.
Business Development:
Support business development efforts by building and maintaining strong client relationships, identifying opportunities for repeat work, and contributing to a high level of client satisfaction. Assist with proposal development, scope definition, fee estimates, and presentations to help secure new projects and expand existing client partnerships.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation, including design specifications and progress reports.
Communication:
Communicate effectively in person and in writing to keep customers, contractors, and project team well informed of pertinent information in a timely manner. Assumes responsibility for filling in gaps in customer communication. Organize and assign project tasks to other staff members.
Innovation:
Foster an environment where new ideas are discussed and developed collaboratively. They will help others overcome resistance to change. The candidate will be dedicated to creating solutions to customers' problems.
Mentorship :
Leading others through the profession of electrical engineering by providing opportunities to shape their skillset and career trajectories.
Qualifications and Experience:
Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree in an Electrical Engineering field
Certification:
FE Registration required, PE preferred
Experience:
Three years of experience in consulting engineering, food processing, wood processing, mining and metals procession or equivalent.
Relevant experience could include:
Power Distribution & Electrical Systems Design:
Experience designing power distribution systems, motor control centers, and low- to medium-voltage electrical infrastructure for industrial facilities.
Instrumentation & Controls:
Familiarity with instrumentation, control systems, and integration of electrical components with industrial equipment and processes.
Electrical Analysis & Code Application:
Understanding of load calculations, short circuit and coordination studies, arc flash analysis, and application of relevant electrical codes and standards.
Adaptability:
Flexibility and willingness to work on various projects and tasks, embracing new challenges with enthusiasm.
Initiative:
Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative to drive projects forward.
Power Distribution & Electrical Systems Design:
Experience designing power distribution systems, motor control centers, and low- to medium-voltage electrical infrastructure for industrial facilities.
Instrumentation & Controls:
Familiarity with instrumentation, control systems, and integration of electrical components with industrial equipment and processes.
Electrical Analysis & Code Application:
Understanding of load calculations, short circuit and coordination studies, arc flash analysis, and application of relevant electrical codes and standards.

Up to 25%
Compensation & Benefits:
The expected base salary range for this role is $70,000 - $115,000 USD per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors including skills, experience, and qualifications.
