Description:
ITG currently has a position opportunity for an electrical controls engineer for our Champaign, IL office. This position is responsible for designing, programming, troubleshooting, modifying, and implementing automation and control systems for clients.
Primary Responsibilities:
Perform work involving the application of all conventional aspects of electrical controls engineering to the functional area of the assignment. Exercise judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, clients, and vendors from design through start-up. Complete the design, programming, and start-up support field instruments, control panels, PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems for industrial clients. Perform the design of complete control systems for a variety of industrial clients to meet client and code requirements. This will include specifying electrical components and PLC/HMI hardware and software as well as designing electrical schematics, PNIDs, control narratives, etc. Perform PLC/HMI programming and start-up. Resolve a variety of complex problems (i.e., conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, difficult coordination requirements). Serve as liaison between clients and agencies, subcontractors, and design teams. Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required. P.E. license is highly preferred.
Experience:
At least 5+ years of experience. More years of experience required for a Senior level position.
Compensation :
Salary commensurate with skills and experience. Benefits typical of industry including paid holidays, paid time off, health/vision/dental insurance, disability and life insurance, parental leave, and 401(k) program with discretionary company match. Henneman Engineering is not currently hiring individuals for this position who now or in the future require sponsorship for employment visa status.
