at Henneman Engineering in Champaign, Illinois, United States Job Description Henneman Engineering is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Champaign, Illinois office. You'll have the opportunity to be a part of the design of exciting, cutting-edge projects in the healthcare; municipal; and higher education industries in Illinois and beyond!
Responsibilities:
Perform work as an electrical engineer in all aspects of project development, including client coordination, pre-design services, initial electrical design approach, final design services, meetings, site visits, and project management. Review all electrical projects handled by the junior electrical engineers and approve all projects before sending out. Knowledgeable in consulting and construction practices to include plan/specifications, design/build, and construction manager roles and responsibilities. Resolve a variety of complex problems (i.e., conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, difficult coordination requirements). Review/organize/prepare all electrical construction drawings (single-line diagrams, layouts, sections, elevations, and details as appropriate), technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates. Also participate in contract bidding/administration and on-site project management.

Low, Medium & High Voltage Distribution Electrical Equipment, including
Substations, Switchgear, and Protective Relaying Electrical Systems Modeling:
Arc Flash, Short Circuit & Coordination Studies Electrical Equipment Maintenance & Testing Lighting & Emergency Power Systems Grounding and Lightning Protection Qualifications:
4-Year Electrical Engineering bachelor's degree from an accredited University. Professional Engineer license in Illinois is highly preferred. 10+ years of electrical engineering experience in a design and consulting firm such as ours. Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and
SKM/ETAP
is highly preferred.
