Job Description

thyssenkrupp integrated its Forging & Machining and Undercarriage businesses to start the new business unit Forged Technologies. With roughly 7,000 employees at 18 production sites in seven different countries, thyssenkrupp Forged Technologies has sales of over one billion euros and operates over 50 forging press lines and more than 150 machining and assembly lines in seven countries. The product portfolio includes undercarriage systems for heavy machinery as well as crankshafts, connecting rods, pistons, chassis products, transmission systems and rotor shafts for the automotive industry. Controls Engineers for thyssenkrupp Crankshaft Company, LLC in Danville, Illinois.
Duties include:
troubleshoot and repair plant equipment and participate in special electronics projects; troubleshoot, diagnose and repair plant equipment, including checking voltages, changing out bad components, switching out gauges, and making camera and software adjustments; perform PLC programming and diagnose machine faults and failures; research and recommend machine control upgrades to address outdated controls; document changes to electrical drawings and generate upgraded drawings; prepare daily log reports and document/track off-shift activity to ensure proper follow up on machine problems and repairs; assist E-Techs and work on special projects, including machine function additions and troubleshoot and repair plant equipment; and add PLC relay outputs based on customer requests.
Requirements:
Bachelor Degree in Electronics or Computer Engineering, Autonomous Systems and Robotics, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent foreign degree. 1 year of work experience in a controls, commissioning, process, or project engineering role. 1 year of work experience with each of the following: programming PLCs and diagnosing machine faults and failures; researching and recommending machine control upgrades to address outdated controls; working on machine function additions, trouble shooting, and repairing plant equipment; and providing maintenance to at least two of the following: FANUC, Siemens, and Allen Bradley control systems.
Salary Range:
$61,693 - $95,000 per year.
