Electrical Engineering Manager Rockford, IL Apply for this job Electrical Engineering Manager Full-Time A well-established and growing provider of water and process treatment solutions is seeking an Electrical Engineering Manager to lead a high-impact engineering team and help shape the next generation of control systems and equipment used across municipal, industrial, and commercial environments. What You Will Do Lead, mentor, and develop a team of electrical engineers and designers, supporting professional development and technical excellence. Plan, coordinate, and oversee electrical engineering activities across new equipment, rental fleet assets, and refurbishment projects. Design electrical systems, develop PLC programs, and select hardware for industrial control applications. Review customer specifications and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that meet operational and regulatory requirements. Approve electrical designs, programming, and modifications while ensuring quality assurance and compliance. Support production and field service teams with troubleshooting and system optimization. Develop project schedules, budgets, cost estimates, and proposals. Evaluate performance metrics and financial data to improve efficiency and profitability. Contribute to strategic planning, including facility improvements, workforce planning, and capital investments. Present technical proposals and findings to customers and secure approvals for designs and modifications. Monitor technology trends and assess feasibility of new solutions aligned with market needs. What You Bring Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Chemical Engineering. 7 to 10 years of experience in water or wastewater treatment or closely related industrial systems. Prior leadership or supervisory experience guiding technical teams. Strong knowledge of electrical system design, controls, and industrial automation. Experience with Rockwell Automation platforms such as RSLogix 500/5000, FactoryTalk View Studio, and RSLinx; Siemens experience is a plus. Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical or similar drafting software. Experience with PLC and HMI development for Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or comparable systems. Understanding of engineering design principles, manufacturing processes, and quality control. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with customers, production teams, and leadership. Familiarity with ERP systems and project scheduling tools is preferred. Travel Approximately 15 to 25 percent travel to support projects and customer needs. Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $140,000 to $175,000 annually , depending on experience and qualifications.
