General Summary:
This position will facilitate the maintenance, adjustment, and expansion of MTI's PLC based machine control and data collection functions.Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Management and Implementation of PLC Control Systems at all MTI Locations PLC programming and communication- changes, new programs, signal exchange HMI interfacing
- Control screens, programming, troubleshooting Data Collection and Manipulation New equipment Installations
- Electrical/Controls design, PLC Planning, I/O, Rack Layouts, etc.
Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements:
Must have working knowledge of a wide variety of controls hardware- Relay logic, PLCs, Frequency Drives, Soft Starters, etc.
Preferred Additional Qualifications:
Working knowledge of DH+. Robotics experience. Vision System experience. Knowledge of 480 voltage systems and distribution. Working knowledge of utility systems (water, air, etc.).Working Conditions:
The Controls Engineer II will reside in the office, however, will be in the plant occasionally. Must be able to adhere to conditions of the plant.Education and Experience Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent. 5 years of hands-on Industrial PLC experience and responsibility in a manufacturing environment. AB programming training Associate's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Mechatronics, or a related technical field (Preferred but not required).
