Job Description
Job Title:
Sr Engineering Technician - Responsibilities + Support multidisciplinary project teams within the Distributed Infrastructure Market Sector, focusing on Substation (Grid) projects and critical infrastructure development. + Generate deliverables such as 3D general arrangements, sections & elevations, conduit/grounding plans, bill of materials, and detailed documentation for substation projects. + Use advanced industry-standard design tools including Autodesk AutoCAD, Bentley Microstation, and other CAD software to create and modify electrical design drawings. + Establish and communicate design and graphic standards, review project requirements, and ensure deliverables meet applicable codes and standards. + Perform technical tasks such as design calculations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, and technical documentation. + Provide guidance, training, and oversight to other engineering technicians to ensure quality, consistency, and compliance with project standards. + Manage drawing control, review design inputs, and contribute to continuous process improvements. + Coordinate with other design groups, support field activities, and communicate project progress and requirements. Requirements + Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology required. + Bachelor Degree in an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred. + Minimum of 0 years of related work experience; relevant experience highly desirable. + Ability to perform design calculations, create technical drawings, and use CAD software effectively. + Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and practices related to substation projects. + Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
