In Office/Flexible Novel Engineering & Consulting LLC is a leading A/E firm specializing in industrial design for the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and life‑science sectors. We deliver innovative, code‑compliant engineering solutions that support mission‑critical manufacturing processes. Position Summary We are seeking a Mid‑Level Electrical Engineer with 5-10 years of hands‑on design experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial electrical systems and be proficient in AutoCAD and/or Revit. Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or other life‑science projects is highly desirable but not mandatory. This role requires excellent English‑language communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a multi‑disciplinary design team. Key Responsibilities Develop electrical design drawings and specifications for industrial facilities, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, and control systems Model, size, and specify electrical equipment (transformers, switchgear, MCCs, panelboards) Perform load calculations, voltage‑drop analysis, short‑circuit studies, and fault‑current calculations Coordinate electrical layouts with architectural, mechanical, plumbing, and process engineering disciplines Produce detailed AutoCAD or Revit deliverables, ensuring compliance with NEC, NFPA, and relevant industry codes and standards Review and incorporate client standards, master specifications, and project‑specific requirements Respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) and review submittals during construction administration Assist in preparation of engineering cost estimates and material take‑offs Participate in design reviews, client meetings, and site visits as needed Mentor junior engineers and CAD technicians, providing guidance on drafting standards and project best practices Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent 5-10 years of professional electrical design experience, preferably in industrial or manufacturing environments Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and/or Revit MEP (at least one) Strong understanding of
NEC, NFPA 70E, NFPA
79, and applicable electrical codes Proven ability to perform load calculations, coordination studies, and electrical system analysis Excellent verbal and written English communication skills Strong teamwork and interpersonal abilities; comfortable collaborating across disciplines Detail‑oriented with a commitment to quality and accuracy Preferred Qualifications Experience with pharmaceutical, biotech, or life‑science facility design Familiarity with process utilities (e.g., clean utilities, UPS, emergency power) Working knowledge of instrumentation and control system integration PE licensure or ability to obtain professional licensure within one year Exposure to project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) Core Competencies Analytical problem solving and critical thinking Effective time management and ability to meet deadlines Adaptability to changing project requirements Strong organizational skills and self‑motivation Commitment to continuous learning and professional growth
