Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Electrical Project Executive - Utility to lead and oversee electrical projects within the utility sector. This role is pivotal in managing large-scale electrical infrastructure projects, ensuring seamless coordination between design, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases. The ideal candidate will bring a robust electrical engineering background combined with exceptional project management skills to drive project success from inception to completion. Duties Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of electrical utility projects, ensuring alignment with client specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. Coordinate with engineering teams to review system design, schematics, and blueprints, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards. Prepare detailed construction estimates utilizing HeavyBid or comparable estimating software, managing budgets effectively throughout project lifecycle. Oversee procurement processes by collaborating with vendors and contractors, ensuring timely delivery of materials such as cables, transformers, switchgear, and other electrical components. Monitor construction site activities for safety compliance and quality assurance, conducting regular site inspections and audits. Manage contract negotiations and administration, including reviewing terms related to scope of work, change orders, and project scope adjustments. Utilize construction management tools like ProCore and Bluebeam for document control, progress tracking, and communication among stakeholders. Facilitate project meetings to coordinate schedules, resolve issues promptly, and ensure all team members are aligned on project objectives. Ensure adherence to all electrical codes (including NEC), safety protocols, and environmental regulations throughout project execution. Experience Proven experience in electrical engineering within the utility or heavy construction sectors, with a strong background in system design and schematic interpretation. Demonstrated success managing large-scale construction projects from initial planning through commissioning. Extensive knowledge of construction estimating software such as HeavyBid; proficiency in Primavera P6 for project scheduling; familiarity with Bluebeam for document management is highly desirable. Hands-on experience reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings related to electrical systems. Strong understanding of contracts management including scope development, change management, and legal considerations in construction projects. Practical knowledge of NEC standards and electrical codes applicable to utility infrastructure projects. Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
