Job Description

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to serve as a key technical leader, driving innovation and ensuring performance, reliability, and manufacturability across the full product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design and development of complex electro-mechanical systems and electrical architectures Perform system-level modeling, simulation, and analysis to validate electrical and electro-mechanical designs Oversee hands-on testing, validation, and troubleshooting of electrical systems and integrated components Drive packaging and integration efforts to ensure performance, durability, and manufacturability Conduct Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies Analyze test data and drive design improvements and optimization efforts Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, manufacturing, quality, and systems engineering teams Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior engineers Support transition from development to production, including documentation and process improvements Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, safety, and quality standards
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred) 7+ years of experience in electrical or electro-mechanical systems engineering Strong experience with system design, modeling, and testing methodologies Experience with electrical simulation and design tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, SPICE, or similar) Hands-on experience with lab equipment and system validation Proven experience with Failure Analysis methodologies Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
