Job Title:
Electrical BIM Coordinator Job Summary:
The Electrical BIM Coordinator is responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of electrical BIM models. This role involves collaboration with architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure that electrical designs are accurately represented and integrated within the overall project.Key Responsibilities:
BIM Model Development:
Create, modify, and maintain 3D electrical models using BIM software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD).Coordination:
Collaborate with other disciplines (mechanical, plumbing, structural) to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems within the overall project model.Quality Assurance:
compliance with industry standards and project specifications.Documentation:
Prepare detailed documentation, including drawings, schedules, and specifications for electrical systems.Collaboration:
Work closely with project teams to identify and resolve conflicts, ensuring timely project delivery.Training and Support:
Provide guidance and support to team members on BIM processes and tools, facilitating training sessions as needed.Project Management:
Assist in project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation related to electrical BIM activities.Continuous Improvement:
Stay updated with the latest BIM technologies and industry trends to enhance processes and workflows.Qualifications:
Software Proficiency:
Proficient in BIM software (e.g., Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD) and other relevant tools.Knowledge:
Strong understanding of electrical systems, codes, standards, and best practices in BIM.Skills:
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills; ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Preferred Qualifications:
Professional certifications related to BIM or project management (e.g., PMI, CBIM). Experience with cloud-based BIM collaboration tools.Working Conditions:
Office-based with potential site visits. May require extended hours during project deadlines. This role is essential for ensuring that electrical designs are not only functional and efficient but also integrated effectively into the broader scope of the construction project.
