Controls Engineer Details:
Direct Hire position $90,000.00 to $100,000.00 /annually First Shift (Monday through Friday) Design, program, and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLC/HMI systems, including SLC 500, MicroLogix, CompactLogix, and PanelView platforms, while supporting industrial communication networks such as Ethernet/IP, DH+, DH-485, and RS-232. Provide hands-on technical support for production equipment by diagnosing and resolving electrical and controls issues involving AC/DC circuits, industrial sensors, servo systems, robotics, vision systems, and MES connectivity. Support equipment installations, commissioning, machine buyoffs, and new product launches while ensuring compliance with plant standards, operational readiness, and safety requirements. Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing cycle times, increasing equipment uptime and reliability, and improving product quality through error-proofing and automation enhancements. Participate in equipment quoting, design reviews, vendor selection, and project management activities to implement cost-effective, standardized manufacturing solutions in a fast-paced production environment. Maintain electrical schematics and plant-wide controls documentation using AutoCAD, train maintenance and operations personnel on troubleshooting and new technologies, and manage electrical spare parts inventory for systems ranging from 480VAC 3-phase power to 24VDC control circuits.
Controls Engineer Qualifications:
Automotive interior or Tier 1 supplier experience preferred. Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field preferred. Minimum of 5 years of controls engineering experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience with fully automated assembly systems featuring integrated Poka-Yoke and MES. Demonstrated success implementing new automation technologies into existing production lines. Experience with automated assembly systems; injection molding experience is a strong plus.
