Summary:
Design, implement, and optimize control systems that ensure machinery and processes operate efficiently, reliably, and safely. Develop and program PLCs and human-machine interfaces (HMIs) for fully automated patented OEM equipment and prototype systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop PLC software (Allen-Bradley) for automated material handling systems. Provide technical support for electrical and control system work performed by electricians and contractors at customer sites. Assist with commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting activities to ensure successful project implementation.
Job Functions:
Program and configure Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLC systems. Design and engineer electrical control systems and pneumatic schematics. Develop electrical wiring diagrams and documentation. Design electrical control panels and programmable HMI software. Develop and maintain programmable logic controller (PLC) software. Debug, test, and provide startup support for control systems. Train customer personnel during equipment commissioning and handoff. Support and troubleshoot PLC-connected devices, including HMIs, scanners, remote I/O, sensors, relays, solenoids, servo drives, and other automation components. Assist maintenance personnel in troubleshooting electrical, pneumatic, and control system issues.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience programming Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens PLC systems. Experience with Rockwell Automation software, including FactoryTalk. Experience with EPLAN is a plus. Strong understanding of electrical control panels, wiring practices, and component selection. Experience with industrial power distribution and control circuits. Manufacturing experience in controls engineering, automation, or material handling systems preferred. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues involving hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems. Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills. Willingness to work overtime and travel up to 25% as required.
