Job Description

Controls Engineer Custom Machinery & Automation | No Travel | Hands-On Engineering Environment Our client is seeking a Controls Engineer to design, develop, and support custom machinery and automated systems. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys hands-on problem solving, electrical control system design, and working through projects from concept to implementation.
Key Focus Areas:
PLC Programming | HMI Systems | Electrical Controls | Custom Machinery | Industrial Automation What You'll Do Design and develop electrical control systems for custom equipment and automation projects Create and review electrical schematics, control panel layouts, and bills of materials Support projects through design reviews, testing, documentation, and implementation Program and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, CNC systems, and industrial control components Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and project teams throughout the equipment lifecycle Assist with system troubleshooting, validation, and technical problem resolution Support continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practices Develop design documentation, calculations, and testing materials Help ensure projects meet performance, timeline, and cost objectives What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline Experience designing and troubleshooting industrial electrical systems and machine controls Experience with PLCs, HMIs, CNC systems, or industrial automation equipment Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills Experience with electrical design software/CAD tools preferred Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple engineering priorities
Preferred Experience:
Custom machinery, automation, or manufacturing engineering experience Control panel design and integration experience Machine startup, commissioning, or troubleshooting experience Experience supporting continuous improvement or lean manufacturing initiatives
Pay:
$100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
