The Senior Electrical Engineer within Advanced Engineering will lead the development of electrical systems for both internal Roush projects and external customers. The Senior Electrical Engineer will perform electrical architecture design, electronics hardware selection, wiring harness design and build support/troubleshooting/testing of electrical systems on the customer end product. This role is located in Livonia, MI. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will:
Lead project engineering and design team to design, model, and analyze electrical architecture, electronics hardware/systems, including processing, signal conditioning, sensors, actuators, and data communications systemsCreate and review engineering work products such as electrical schematics, electrical controls cabinet designs, as well as detailed cable assembly drawing and create bill of materials (BOMs) and all other associated documentationInform and update the engineering and design team regarding relevant program information including key dates, requirements, customer reviews and deliverablesLead the development and execution of electrical system or component functional and validation test requirements/procedures/documentation, and lead installation and commissioning effortsDevelop and capture customer and interface requirements and ensure conformance of components and systems to customer specificationsResearch new products, technologies, and methodologies and conduct trade-off studiesSupport hazard assessments and failure modes and effects analysisProvide leadership, guidance, coaching, and technical support to team membersTo be considered as a Senior Electrical Engineer, you must have: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or relatedMinimum of 4 years of experience in electrical and controls developmentExperience in electrical and controls engineering in industries including automotive, aerospace, defense, industrial, manufacturing automation, or theme parkUS citizenshipKnowledge of industrial control design and implementation using industry standard equipmentAbility to read, understand, and create electrical schematics and good understanding of electrical and electronics basicsSuperb verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey technical data to various audiences and work in a team environmentAble to work independently and handle several assignments simultaneouslyA successful candidate may also have:
Experience with programmable logic control (PLC) ladder logic and PLC software languages gained through coursework or other projectsExperience with the development and maintenance of electrical test plans, DVP&Rs, hazard analysis and DFMEA documentsExperience with electrical standards such as
Experience with the following software packages: AutoCAD 2D, Solidworks, Solidworks Electrical, Microsoft VisioExperience with vehicle electrification - High voltage wiring and distribution, batteries, motors, inverters, etcCapable of planning, estimating, scheduling, and coordinating technical aspects of projectsAutomotive vehicle knowledge, including hands on mechanical or electrical workThemed entertainment industry knowledge of ride systems, animated figures and show action equipmentWorking knowledge of
