Key Responsibilities:
Work with a global team to design, commission and run Delta's Plymouth Microgrid Program and diagnose the system using Schweitzer and Schneider Meters and Systems Plan, Run and Document Tests using the microgrid to enhance Delta's ability to bring Microgrids to market Document issues of the systems, along with their solution, Develop and validate models of the system to improve Delta's capability Partner with the controls team on
IEC 61850 GOOSE / MMS
mapping, SCADA point lists, RTAC I/O schedules, and PCC metering Support commissioning grid-forming and grid-following modes, black-start sequencing, seamless islanding, and PCC resynchronization Coordinate with utility interconnection engineers through application, study, and witness-testing milestones Author equipment specifications, technical bid evaluations, and RFQ packages for utility-grade balance-of-plant Develop single-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, protection one-lines, and load flow / short-circuit / arc-flash studies for

+ genset microgrids Develop protection schemes (50/51, 27/59, 81/ROCOF, 25, 32, 87) and coordinate settings with meters; validate anti-islanding and ride-through per

Minimum Qualifications:
B.S. in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems concentration preferred); M.S. a plus 5+ years of electrical design experience in one or more of: BESS, microgrid, utility-scale PV, industrial power, or substation engineering.
Senior candidates:
8+ years Comfort reading and producing single-line diagrams, control schematics, and cable schedules Ability to work on-site Detroit-area office and travel to project sites 15-25% of the time Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional Engineer (PE) license in NC, MI, or ability to obtain reciprocity within 12 months Direct commissioning experience with grid-forming inverters, battery energy storage systems, or hybrid PV+BESS plants Working knowledge of NEC (NFPA 70), NFPA 855 for energy storage, IEEE 1547-2018, IEEE 519, and
IEEE C37
protection series Familiarity with
IEC 61850
(GOOSE / MMS / SV), SEL RTAC platforms, DNP3, and Modbus TCP Experience interfacing with utility interconnection processes under
