This is an exciting opportunity for a senior-level Controls Engineer to work with advanced automation, PLC/HMI programming, robotics, and system integration while providing technical leadership and mentorship to other engineers.
Starting Salary:
$120,000+
Schedule:
In-person to start; transitioning to a hybrid schedule with 2 remote days
Travel:
Up to 50%, including potential international travel

Full-time Key Responsibilities:
Lead controls and system integration projects from development through commissioning and startup. Develop and implement PLC/HMI software for paint and dispense applications. Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to Controls Engineers and project teams. Troubleshoot technical issues, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions. Support project proposals, system estimates, and customer solutions. Lead the development and implementation of Software and Controls standards. Provide technical support to customers, vendors, suppliers, and internal teams. Required Qualifications 7+ years of experience in systems engineering/design within an OEM or automation environment. Proven experience with multiple PLC programming languages, including Allen-Bradley and Siemens. Experience developing software for PLC, GUI, HMI, and robotic systems. Strong knowledge of fieldbus communications, including Ethernet/IP, ControlNet, DeviceNet, ProfiBus, ModBus, and CanBus. Experience with
VB.NET, MS
Visual Studio, and PanelView+; WinCC Flexible and iFix are a plus. Strong electro-mechanical skills with the ability to read and develop electrical, fluid, and pneumatic schematics. Understanding of paint and dispense technology and robotic paint application processes. Experience with FANUC, ABB, Kawasaki, or Yaskawa robotics is a plus. Knowledge of electrical codes, OSHA/ANSI standards, RIA standards, GD&T, and hazardous-location requirements are preferred. Strong communication, problem-solving, leadership, and organizational skills. Education Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or a related field preferred. Equivalent professional experience or vocational training will be considered.
Work Environment:
Primarily office/engineering-based with time spent in labs and warehouse areas. Up to 50% travel to customer and project sites, including potential international travel. May involve exposure to paint, solvents, adhesives, electrical equipment, and other industrial environments. Ability to lift to 40 lbs.
