Controls Engineer Job Description To succeed as a Full-Time Controls/Commissioning Engineer, you should bring a strong background in the automation industry, supported by 3-5 years of hands-on experience. This role requires proficiency in PLC and HMI programming, as you will be responsible for developing, configuring, and commissioning sophisticated control systems. Strong troubleshooting skills are essential, as you'll be expected to identify and resolve machine control system issues to keep projects on track and operating smoothly. We're looking for a motivated self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates effectively, and approaches challenges with a creative, solutions-driven mindset. Responsibilities Develop, configure, and commission sophisticated control systems. Identify and resolve machine control system issues. Collaborate effectively within a team to keep projects on track. Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Essential Skills 3-5 years of experience in the automation industry. Hands-on experience with PLC and HMI programming. Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve machine control system issues. Strong communication skills. Self-motivated and collaborative team player. Results-driven with the ability to manage multiple priorities. 25% travel required. Additional Skills & Qualifications Familiarity with SiemensPLC. 2-3
years of controls engineering experience. Associates degree in a related field. Preferred knowledge in robotics and programming from scratch. Work Environment The work environment includes a new facility with a large and clean shop floor, fostering a collaborative environment. The design and programming team, which includes 10 other Controls Engineers and 3 supervisors, work closely together. This setting offers an opportunity for training and development while working alongside a supportive team. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Walker, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
