Job Title:

Engineering Reports to: Engineering Manager, Electrical
GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE
The Engineer I, Electrical is responsible for developing and maintaining electromechanical system designs under the direction of a senior engineer or manager. They provide direction to designers and drafters regarding the documentation of their designs. Provides engineering support to internal and external customers and performs other tasks as assigned.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Functional & Technical Skills Translate requirements into a system architecture and detailed design. Design and integrate industrial automation and control systems including PLC controls, motor controls, and general machine controls. Determine feasibility of modifying existing or designing new equipment considering costs, time limitations, and other technical and economic factors. Validate designs through analysis and testing Operational Excellence Coordinate own design efforts to meet production schedules and provide project task estimates and updates to project team.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
BS in
Electrical Engineering Experience:
0+ years experience in developing and maintaining electromechanical system designs.
Licenses/Certifications:
Obtain and maintain railroad safety training and credentials
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Working knowledge of business software including MS Office suite. Collaborate with others to clarify requirements and develop solutions. Lead design reviews consisting of multi-disciplined and cross functional team members
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
MS in
Electrical Engineering Experience:
0+ years experience in the following: 480VAC power generation and distribution Engine/generator controls Industrial automation and controls systems Electrical traction systems (DC & AC) Motor controls and variable speed drives
Licenses/Certifications:
EIT Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge in Autodesk and ERP software
PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
This position requires successful completion of: The subject's name must correspond to their Social Security number and date of birth.
