Job Description
Talascend is currently seeking a Mission Critical Facilities Operator for a contract opportunity with our client in Jackson, Mississippi . Overview This role involves operating and maintaining mechanical, electrical, and building infrastructure systems in a mission critical data center to ensure 100% uptime. The position requires performing repairs, maintenance, and overseeing vendor services in a highly technical environment. Responsibilities Operate and maintain all aspects of mechanical, electrical, and infrastructure equipment in a data center environment Monitor and operate equipment to ensure 100% uptime Perform installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems Conduct routine assessments and testing of building systems and equipment Oversee vendors and contractors performing preventive maintenance and repairs Understand and adhere to critical environment management policies and protocols Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to electrical, mechanical, fire safety, and environmental systems Participate in on-call rotations for 24/7 support Maintain documentation and records of maintenance and repairs Qualifications High School diploma or GED equivalent, technical training or degree 4-5 years of related experience in electrical and mechanical fields Understanding of design and construction documents for critical systems Proficient in basic computer applications such as MS Office and email Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to operate, troubleshoot, and perform repairs on electrical (e.g., UPS, generators, switchgear), mechanical (e.g., chillers, boilers, pumps), fire safety, environmental controls, and digital systems Experience working with energized equipment (hot work) is a plus Ability to work under duress and maintain professionalism during emergencies Physical ability to lift up to 80 lbs, work at heights, climb ladders up to 30 feet, and work in conditions of extreme cold or hot temperatures Valid state driver's license and reliable transportation Must possess and maintain EPA Universal certification or obtain within 90 days Preferred Qualifications Experience with data center infrastructure management platforms Knowledge of data hall power distribution and cooling fundamentals Experience working with energized equipment in commercial environments Background in HVAC, chillers, boilers, and related systems #ind123 We thank all applicants for their interest.
