Bostic, NC Position Summary TMG Haartz Solutions (THS) has an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer to join our growing automotive manufacturing operation in Bostic, NC. As an automotive startup environment, THS offers the unique opportunity to help shape manufacturing processes, infrastructure, and operational excellence from the ground up while working alongside an experienced and collaborative leadership team. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys a combination of hands-on manufacturing support, capital project coordination, equipment installation, and continuous improvement initiatives within a fast-paced production environment. The Project Engineer will play a key role in supporting plant engineering projects, facility infrastructure improvements, manufacturing equipment integration, and operational reliability efforts. We are looking for a motivated engineering professional with strong technical problem-solving skills, project coordination experience, and a proactive mindset who is eager to grow into broader engineering and leadership responsibilities over time. Candidate Profile - Project Engineer (Manufacturing / Plant Engineering) Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline required 3-8 years of experience in manufacturing, industrial engineering, plant engineering, or project engineering environments Experience supporting capital projects, manufacturing equipment installations, or facility improvements Working knowledge of: Mechanical systems Electrical systems Pneumatic and hydraulic systems Industrial automation and PLC-controlled equipment Experience working within fast-paced manufacturing or automotive environments preferred Strong troubleshooting, analytical, organizational, and communication skills Hands-on and proactive mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally on the manufacturing floor Experience coordinating with contractors, vendors, OEMs, and maintenance teams preferred CAD experience required (AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks preferred) Key Responsibilities Support capital equipment and plant infrastructure projects from planning through installation and startup Coordinate equipment layouts, utility requirements, installation activities, and production integration Support and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment and facility systems Assist with plant utility systems including: Chilled water systems Pneumatic systems Hydraulic systems HVAC systems Electrical distribution systems Compressed air systems Production utilities Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering teams to improve operational performance Support equipment commissioning, validation, and process optimization initiatives Assist in developing project scopes, schedules, technical specifications, and budgets Coordinate activities with contractors, vendors, OEMs, and external engineering resources Support preventive and predictive maintenance initiatives Create and modify engineering drawings, layouts, and technical documentation using CAD software Participate in continuous improvement and operational efficiency initiatives Support troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and controls-related issues Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, environmental, and company safety standards Key Technical Competencies Manufacturing project coordination and execution Equipment installation and commissioning Plant engineering and industrial infrastructure systems Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting Industrial automation and PLC-controlled equipment Preventive and predictive maintenance concepts CAD software proficiency (AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks) Continuous improvement and problem-solving methodologies Manufacturing utility systems and facility support infrastructure Cross-functional collaboration and communication Project scheduling, vendor coordination, and contractor management OSHA and industrial safety compliance Career Growth Opportunity THS is building a strong engineering organization and this role offers significant opportunity for professional growth and advancement.
