Job Description

Education :
High School Diploma or GED required. Certified as a Peer Support Specialist in North Carolina is required. Work experience : No experience required. A minimum of one to three years' experience preferred working with adults who have a mental illness and/or substance abuse diagnosis. Per North Carolina Medicaid regulations, this person must have "lived experience" and a personal recovery story specific to primary mental illness.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely. Possess considerable knowledge of recovery services and an array of intervention techniques to support each person's personal recovery. Ability to be available for crisis situations.
Interpersonal Skills :
Must possess skills in establishing a rapport with members, applying techniques of assessing psychosocial and behavioral aspects of a member's problems. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Members being served by the ACT Team. Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely and to plan and execute work effectively. \
Travel Requirements :
