Senior Electrical Engineer Location:

Onsite, Durham, NC Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to support the design, development, testing, and enhancement of electrical and electronic products. This role will be responsible for driving electrical design activities throughout the product development lifecycle, from concept through production support. The ideal candidate has strong experience with electronic circuit design, PCB development, hardware debugging, and cross-functional engineering collaboration. Key Responsibilities Design and develop electrical and electronic systems for new and existing products. Create schematics, PCB layouts, and associated documentation using Altium Designer. Develop analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power electronics designs. Perform hardware troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation. Support verification, validation, and system testing activities. Evaluate design alternatives considering performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost. Support enhancement and maintenance of existing product platforms. Lead electrical engineering efforts through the full product development lifecycle. Collaborate with mechanical, software, manufacturing, quality, and other engineering teams. Support prototype builds, testing, debugging, and production transition activities. Create and maintain technical documentation including schematics, BOMs, test plans, and engineering reports. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering team members. Contribute to process improvements and engineering best practices. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. 6+ years of experience in electrical or electronic product development. Advanced proficiency with Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB design.

Strong experience with:

Electronic circuit design and analysis Analog and digital electronics Power electronics and power distribution PCB design and layout Hardware integration, testing, and debugging Product troubleshooting and root cause analysis Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation. Understanding of verification, validation, and product lifecycle processes. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with AutoCAD Electrical and/or Microsoft Visio. Knowledge of PLC systems and industrial controls. Experience with electrical panel design. Familiarity with EMI/EMC concepts and testing. Exposure to embedded hardware design.
