3rd shift Controls Engineer
ABOUT STANADYNE
Stanadyne is known around the world as a leading supplier of diesel fuel systems and components. In addition, Stanadyne is quickly becoming an industry leader in the fast-growing field of Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI). Our products are for engine applications in agriculture, construction, power generation, industrial, marine, and on-highway vehicles. Over the years Stanadyne has expanded with precision manufacturing locations in China, India, Italy, and the United States. We have been providing innovative fuel system solutions to our customers for over 50 years and continue to focus on developing future cutting-edge fuel systems that will help distinguish our customers' engines from their competition. Our Jacksonville manufacturing facility has about 250 employees operating over three shifts.
Job Summary:
Develops, plans, coordinates, and implements controls engineering projects consisting of complex features in order to best support the plant and its' operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and implement control systems for our automated production line. Program and maintain Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs) to control manufacturing processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, to integrate control systems with production equipment. Select and integrate sensors and instrumentation for process monitoring and quality control. Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations, implementing safety systems and protocols. Analyze data from sensors and control systems to optimize process efficiency and quality. Provide technical support for troubleshooting and resolving control system issues to minimize downtime. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of control system designs and procedures. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production line performance. Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in automation and control technology.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (Master's degree preferred). Proven experience in industrial automation and control systems. Proficiency in PLC programming and HMI design (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or similar platforms). Knowledge of safety standards and devices in industrial automation. Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Project management experience is a plus. Experience with MSSQL or Python is a bonus.
Travel Requirements:
Possible travel to customers and suppliers, domestically and internationally.
Physical Requirements:
Essential physical requirements, such as climbing stairs, standing, stooping, or typing. Physical effort/lifting, such as sedentary - up to 10 pounds; light - up to 20 pounds and/or move up to 50 pounds with aids.
