Technical expertise to accurately analyze complex options and prepare complex distribution facility designs for residential, commercial, and industrial projects, and leadership skills to manage work in a specific area of expertise, with minimal supervision. Workers are expected to develop advanced skills and to have the ability to work independently. Responsibilities Design and prepare drawings, calculations, and documentation for complex distribution facilities, including underground and overhead projects. Develop project packages with accurate material estimates, requisitions, and technical specifications for single and three-phase systems. Apply reliability principles to evaluate voltage, loading, outage analysis, and system expansion considerations. Maintain precise records, update technical databases, and ensure documentation aligns with company standards. Build and nurture relationships with customers, contractors, and regulatory officials to facilitate project success. Lead and support technical training initiatives, providing advanced problem-solving expertise for team members. Manage multiple projects, including residential subdivisions, commercial upgrades, lighting, and customer conversions. Demonstrate self-motivation, reliability, and independence in completing tasks while working collaboratively within a team. Required Qualifications B.S. in engineering technology with 3-7 years of experience, or associate degree with 5-11 years of equivalent experience, or 8-17 years of relevant experience. Proven competency in distribution system design, outage analysis, and construction standards. Strong communication skills, both oral and written. Valid driver's license and an appropriate vehicle for business use. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and basic electrical understanding. Desired Qualifications Knowledge of higher-level analysis tools and programs. Experience leading groups or teams. Deep understanding of electric distribution materials and work procedures.
