Job Description

Overview Come join our Team! The Residence Inn Omaha West is seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Hotel Chief Engineer to lead our maintenance and engineering operations, ensuring the seamless functionality of all hotel facilities. This vital role involves overseeing the maintenance, repair, and modernization of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, technical expertise in industrial maintenance, and a proactive approach to facilities management. Responsibilities Lead and supervise the engineering team to execute routine maintenance, emergency repairs, and preventative programs across all hotel facilities. Manage the operation and troubleshooting of complex systems such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs), HVAC units, electrical systems (including high voltage and low voltage), and mechanical equipment. Oversee the use of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to schedule work orders, track assets, and optimize maintenance workflows. Develop and implement maintenance management strategies aligned with industry standards to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance with local regulations. Review schematics, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams to diagnose issues accurately and execute repairs effectively. Coordinate projects related to facility upgrades or renovations, ensuring timely completion within budget constraints. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, safety checks, and equipment performance for audit purposes. Ensure all facilities operate at optimal performance levels by supervising HVAC systems, electrical installations (including high voltage), low voltage systems, and industrial machinery. Promote a culture of safety by enforcing protocols related to electrical work (including high voltage), industrial maintenance practices, and general facilities management. Collaborate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or system upgrades while managing project timelines and quality standards. Experience Proven management experience leading engineering or facilities teams within a hospitality or manufacturing environment. Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical experience (including high voltage and low voltage), HVAC operations, and industrial maintenance practices. Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics interpretation, Ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools like ohmmeters for electrical troubleshooting. Familiarity with software for maintenance management purposes. Strong supervisory skills with the ability to lead teams effectively while fostering a safety-conscious environment. Demonstrated project management capabilities in executing facility upgrades or large-scale maintenance projects. Excellent communication skills in English to coordinate with internal teams and external vendors efficiently.
