Job Description

Electrical Controls Engineer — IQAN / Mobile Machinery Position Summary The Electrical Controls Engineer develops, programs, and supports IQAN‑based control systems for RagnarTech's 9400/9700 grinders. This role builds MD4/MC4 logic, screen interfaces, safety interlocks, CANbus communication, and system diagnostics. Works closely with Mechanical, Hydraulic, and Production teams. Key Responsibilities Develop IQANdesign programs for MD4 displays and MC4 controllers Create machine control logic for feed systems, rotor load control, engine integration, and safety circuits Design electrical schematics, harnesses, sensor layouts, and control panels Implement J1939 CANbus communication with diesel engines and hydraulic controllers Build operator interfaces, diagnostic screens, and service menus Validate control systems through bench testing, machine commissioning, and field trials Troubleshoot electrical and software issues during production builds Maintain revision‑controlled software, documentation, and change logs Support continuous improvement and new product development Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience 3-7 years experience in mobile machinery controls (forestry, construction, recycling, or agriculture) Proficiency with IQANdesign and IQANsimulate Strong understanding of CANbus, J1939, sensors, relays, and mobile electrical systems Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical and software issues Experience with hydraulic system integration a strong plus
