Chosen candidate will work with mentors on real projects that directly impact UUSA's enrichment and Net Zero initiative. The Electrical Maintenance Intern will support the Electrical Maintenance team in maintaining the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant electrical systems and equipment. The intern will gain hands-on experience in industrial electrical maintenance practices, preventive and corrective maintenance activities, troubleshooting, work planning, and continuous improvement initiatives while working under the guidance of experienced electrical technicians, engineers, and supervisors. This internship provides practical exposure to a highly regulated nuclear fuel cycle facility and helps develop foundational skills in electrical maintenance, safety, and reliability. Program Summary May 2027 through August 2027 (11 weeks) internship program Must be able to work at least 40 hours per week for the duration of the program Work location: Eunice, NM Supplementary group learning sessions One on one mentoring Opportunities for presentations and high level networking Compensation Paid Internship $21/hour paid bi-weekly Company sponsored Housing & Utilities Candidate Requirements / Eligibility Currently enrolled in an accredited Associate's or Bachelor's degree program in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Electronics Technology, Mechatronics, or a related technical field. Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 preferred. Ability to obtain and maintain site access authorization and applicable security clearances. Strong safety mindset and willingness to work in an industrial environment.2 years of college courses completed Able to work ALL 11 weeks (May through August) of the internship program

General Office. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets etc. Responsible for the protection of confidential and proprietary information received during employment, including keeping information in strict confidence, exercising a reasonable degree of care to prevent disclosure to others, not disclosing or divulging either directly or indirectly information to others, and not using the information commercially or for any other purpose other than the performance of their duties for Urenco. Confidential information includes information and data of any kind concerning any matters affecting or relating to Urenco business or operations, including compensation, investigations, financial controls, etc. Essential Functions Support Electrical Maintenance personnel in executing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities. Assist in troubleshooting electrical equipment, control systems, motors, motor control centers (MCCs), variable frequency drives (VFDs), instrumentation, and plant distribution systems. Participate in maintenance planning, work package development, and documentation reviews. Assist with equipment inspections, testing, calibration, and condition monitoring activities. Review electrical drawings, schematics, single-line diagrams, and maintenance procedures. Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives through data collection, analysis, and reporting. Assist in maintaining maintenance records and documentation Observe and support plant modifications and project activities as assigned. Participate in safety meetings, pre-job briefings, and training activities. Learn and apply nuclear safety, environmental, quality assurance, and regulatory requirements. Support development of technical reports, presentations, and recommendations related to maintenance performance and equipment reliability. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
