Job Description

Solidus Resources is a U.S.-based gold development company backed by Waterton Mining. The Spring Valley Project is located in the prolific Humboldt Range, an area with approximately 60 million ounces of gold endowment within a 50-mile radius. The Spring Valley Project is a large-scale open pit gold heap leach operation, with 10 year mine life and a production profile in excess of 300,000 oz annually. Using 300-ton class autonomous mining haul trucks and hydraulic shovels, the higher-grade ore will be crushed in a 13 Mst/a three stage crushing facility with a ½" product size that is conveyed and placed on the heap leach pad with stackers, while the low-grade run-of-mine ore will be directly stacked using the mine truck fleet. The conventional heap leach pad is segregated into these two operating areas where it will be irrigated, with leach solutions collected and processed into dore bars through the ADR facility. Site infrastructure to support the operation such as haul roads, waste rock storage facilities, truck shops, water management, warehouses, offices, etc are also included in the project scope.
Position Overview:
The Senior Electrical Engineer will serve as the representative for electrical infrastructure on a large-scale greenfield mining project in Lovelock, Nevada. This role oversees the design, construction, commissioning, and performance of site electrical infrastructure, including substations, power distribution systems, and process facilities. Partnering with EPCM firms, contractors, and operations teams, the Senior Electrical Engineer will provide technical leadership and ensure safe, compliant, and successful project execution.
Job Responsibilities:
Act as the electrical engineering lead for site electrical infrastructure from substation to end user. Oversee the design, construction, commissioning, and startup of electrical systems across the mine site. Review and manage engineering deliverables, including single-line diagrams, load lists, power studies, equipment specifications, and construction drawings. Provide technical oversight of MV/LV power distribution, substations, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, motors, and backup power systems. Manage EPCM partners, contractors, vendors, and engineering consultants to ensure quality, schedule, and technical compliance. Support electrical system design, grounding, protection philosophies, relay coordination, and arc flash studies. Coordinate electrical interfaces with process, mechanical, civil, and controls disciplines. Support PLC, SCADA, VFD, and automation system integration. Lead FAT/SAT activities, commissioning, energization planning, and system startup. Develop and review commissioning procedures, test plans, and energization documentation. Troubleshoot electrical system issues during construction, commissioning, and operations. Ensure compliance with electrical safety programs, LOTO procedures, and applicable codes and standards.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. Professional Engineer (PE) license required. 7-10+ years of electrical engineering experience in mining, heavy industrial, oil & gas, energy, or large infrastructure projects. Experience supporting project development, construction, and commissioning. Strong knowledge of power distribution systems, substations, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, and overhead/underground power lines. Experience with protection systems, relay coordination, arc flash analysis, and electrical safety practices. Familiarity with PLCs, SCADA, VFDs, and industrial control systems.
